1. What Esticra is

Esticra is a browser extension that lets you extract text from any visible area of your screen using AI-powered Optical Character Recognition (OCR). By installing or using Esticra, you agree to these terms.

2. Your account & access

Esticra does not require an account to use. You install the extension from the Chrome Web Store and it works immediately. If we introduce account features in the future, we'll update these terms and notify you before any change takes effect.

3. What you can do

• Use Esticra for any lawful personal or commercial purpose
• Extract text from content you have the right to access
• Integrate extracted text into your workflows, documents, and applications
• Use the free tier without obligation or time limit

4. What we ask you not to do

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the extension's code beyond what open-source licenses permit
• Overwhelm our servers with automated or scripted bulk requests (reasonable use only)
• Use Esticra to extract content in violation of applicable copyright laws
• Attempt to access, disrupt, or exploit our backend infrastructure
• Redistribute Esticra under a different name or brand

We reserve the right to limit or suspend access if we detect abuse, but we'll always try to reach out and resolve issues first.

5. Your content & ownership

You own everything you extract. The text you capture with Esticra is entirely yours. We don't claim any rights, license, or ownership over content you process through the extension. We never store, review, or use your extracted text for any purpose.

6. Intellectual property

The Esticra name, logo, extension code, and backend service are our intellectual property. These terms don't transfer any IP rights to you beyond the right to use the extension as intended. You're free to share feedback or feature requests — but we won't claim ownership of your ideas either.

7. Pricing & payments

Esticra offers a free tier. If you subscribe to a paid plan:

• Pricing is displayed clearly before purchase — no hidden fees
• You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of your billing period
• We'll give at least 30 days notice before any price increase
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — we're reasonable people

8. Service availability

We strive for high uptime but can't guarantee 100% availability. Our OCR backend may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or due to factors beyond our control. We don't guarantee specific response times, accuracy levels, or uninterrupted service — though we work hard to deliver all three.

9. Limitation of liability

Esticra is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability won't exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $50, whichever is greater)
• We're not responsible for actions you take based on extracted text (always verify critical content)

This doesn't limit any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived by agreement.

10. Termination

You can stop using Esticra at any time by uninstalling the extension. We can terminate or suspend your access if you violate these terms, but we'll provide notice and explanation unless immediate action is required to protect other users or our infrastructure.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Esticra evolves. When we do:

• We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top
• Material changes will be communicated via extension update notes
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
• We'll never retroactively weaken your rights without clear notice

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Esticra operates. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If that fails, disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.
